Delicious BBQ At Firehouse Restaurant

We enjoyed lunch at the Firehouse Restaurant in Johnson City with our friends Jennifer and Brenda. The savory smell of BBQ fills the air when you enter, and the staff is exceptional. We were in our seat and waited on in no time. The restaurants name is fitting because it is house in a actual Fire House that was originally built in 1930, served the town as the Walnut Street Fire Hall until 1976.

Each year the American Homebrewers Association holds it’s annual National Homebrew Competition. It has become the world’s largest beer competition with over 4,443 homemade beers from 1,058 of the finest homebrewers. Brewers come from 46 states and three countries to display a record number of brews in 29 style categories. The first National Homebrew Competition took place in 1979 in Boulder, Colorado when only 34 varieties of beers were judge. Since then the competition has evaluated as many as 49,674 different brews from Canada, Japan and United States over the past 26-years.

While on our visit to the Quad Cities, we visited the Rhythm City Casino. This Riverboat Casino has offered gaming along the Mississippi River in the Quad Cities for over twenty years, and luck is on your side. They have table games, with games that include Card Poker, Blackjack, and Texas Hold ´em, as well Craps, Roulette, and video poker machines. It was amazing how many people were playing and winning at the Rhythm City Casino during our visit. Every time we turned around someone was shouting out in excitement as they won big.

McKenna Haase Wins Race At Knoxville Raceway

Fans at Knoxville Raceway experience some of the most exhilarating and intense
dirt track racing in the world. And, recently watched as McKenna Haase claimed
the first female feature win in a sprint car at the track. Haase, who races in
the 305 class, is in her second year of competing at Knoxville Raceway. What’s
even more exciting for this young racer is that she just graduated from Carlisle
High School on Sunday, where she delivered the commencement speech as her class
valedictorian.
